The U.S. Department of Labor has declared the month's theme to be "Expectation + Opportunity = Full Participation." More locally, the Missouri Developmental Disabilities Employment Team works for "community-integrated employment options" for all workers.
The month "is intended to urge employers, as they seek to fill positions, to embrace the richness of America's diversity by considering the talents of all workers, including workers with disabilities," Hab Center employees said in a press release.

i have been fired from my job as a in-homehealh aide beceuse i have spinal stenosis and had some surgery myself. i dont think this was fair at all. they put me in in a bad place, more stress than i needed. something really should be done to protect our jobs better.do you had to be signed up for the disability act to apply to it, because it has failed me dearly
This raises the question of how many people with a certified disability are gainfully employed in local commerce.
Do you suppose the mayor's office, or another city department, maintains such information?
