Hayes pleads guilty to misdemeanor resisting arrest charge

Friday, September 25, 2009
Billy S. Hayes, 25, of Slater, pleaded guilty in Associate Court Wednesday, Sept. 23, in connection with an incident July 16 in the parking lot of Gilliam School in Gilliam.

Hayes was charged with class A misdemeanor resisting/interfering with arrest, detention or stop.

According to the incident report, deputies were called to the scene when a woman reported Hayes had assaulted her. As the arresting officers transported him to Saline County Justice Facility, he continued to verbally assault the arresting officers, threatening several times, the report says, to assault them when the officers were not on duty.

Hayes received a sentence of 60 days in Saline County Justice Facility, which was suspended in favor of a two-year term of probation and five days shock incarceration at the facility, subject to time served. In addition, he will not be permitted to purchase or consume alcohol during the probation period.

Big Poppi: Timothy Hayes' case hasn't been resolved just yet.

Lets see how long this last. Isn't there a beer garden in Slater on the 26th. Wonder if the Hayes boys will be there? what about the charges that were brought up on Timothy Hayes that same day?

Assault charges were never brought in connection with this incident. There are number of possible reasons, including, but not limited to, a lack of clear proof the assault occurred or failure of the victim to cooperate. Whatever the reason, Hayes was not charged with assault.

Only in Saline County. Surprised he didn't get it all reduced to a turn signal violation. What happened to the original assault charge that the deputies were call to in the first place? I'm sure it was concurrent with these charges.
