Warrant issued for Marshall man accused of assaulting woman

Tuesday, September 22, 2009
Anthony M. Wright, 18, of Marshall, is the subject of an arrest warrant issued Monday, Sept. 21.

Wright is wanted in connection with an assault Sunday, Sept. 21, on a woman with whom he resides. According to the incident report filed by Marshall police, Wright attacked the woman while she was doing homework, grabbed her by the hair, yelled at her and threw her on the floor.

The report also alleges Wright grabbed the woman by the hair and slammed the back of her head against the floor, then pulled her across the floor by the hair and threw her against a refrigerator. According to the report, officers on the scene said the woman had three 2-inch bumps on the back of her head, a large bruise on her right forearm and another on her left shoulder blade.

Wright is charged with class A misdemeanor domestic assault in the third degree, which carries a penalty of up to one year in county jail and/or up to a $1,000 fine. The arrest warrant asks a $1,500 cash or surety bond.

Charges contained in reports provided by law enforcement officials are not evidence of guilt. Evidence supporting charges must be presented before a jury, whose duty is to determine if the accused is guilty or not guilty of the charges.

notgvnsht: Not every abused woman returns to her abuser. Thanks to the efforts of Lighthouse and other organizations like it, women are learning they don't have to do that. Your statement "They always go back" is absolutely not true.

Just like always I'm going to take the hard route here, to hell with the fine, throw him in jail and see how he likes being dragged by his hair by the big boys inside. I'm sure they'd love to meet a tough guy like this!!

Sounds like a real tough guy. However, I'm sure someone on here will take his side and say he needs help.

No excuse, he's an adult. To whom ever the young lady may be, you can obviously do better. Easier said than done, but, Get Out !!!! You can do better!!!!!!!
