In the proclamation, citizens are encouraged "to take steps towards building a healthy lifestyle, family and community."
The YMCA will celebrate America on the Move with a 5K run and "kids fun runs" Saturday, Sept. 26.
"By making small changes," the application reads, "you can reap big rewards."
America on the Move week promotes incorporating healthy activities as part of daily routines in order to lead to better quality of life.
