Newscope: Archaeology 'road show' at Van Meter State park Sept. 20

Van Meter State Park near Miami will host an artifact road show and exhibit Sunday, Sept. 20, from 2 to 5 p.m. in Missouri's American Indian Cultural Center.

Members of the Sedalia-West Central Chapter of the Missouri Archaeological Society will be on hand to help anyone identify artifacts or other archaeological objects they want to learn more about. Pieces from the chapter's collections will also be on display.

The program and event, in celebration of Missouri Archaeology Month September 2009, is free and open to the public.

Buying and selling of artifacts will not be permitted.
