Gerold H. Kaylor, 58, of rural Slater, died Saturday, Sept. 12, 2009, at University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia.
Cremation. Memorial services will be held Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at Weiker Funeral Home in Slater, with Rev. David L. Duncan officiating. Memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society.
Born April 20, 1951, in Canton, he was the son of the late Oscar H. and Goldie Bringer Kaylor. On Dec. 14, 1968, in Kahoka, he married Lola Nichols, who survives of the home. He was employed as a mechanic at BHA in Slater and later GE Energy in Slater. He had resided in rural Slater since 1994, moving from Glasgow.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Jim Kaylor and John Kaylor, both of Glasgow, and Jay Kaylor of Richmond; one daughter, Laurie Kaylor of Kansas City; eight grandchildren; one brother, Allan Kaylor of the state of Arkansas; and two sisters, Esther Kermode of Canton and Rose Kerker of Quincy, Ill.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Stella Otto and Margaret Vandenburg.
