Sweet Springs volleyball: Sacred Heart 2, Sweet Springs 0

SWEET SPRINGS -- Defending Class 1 state champion Sacred Heart didn't exactly roll over the Sweet Springs volleyball team Thursday, but still managed to post a convincing 25-16, 25-18 non-conference road win.

Junior Devin Wadley led the fifth-ranked Lady Gremlins (3-0) with seven kills and eight digs.

Seniors Jodie Harris and Kristin Jones combined for seven spikes to pace the Lady Greyhounds, who got five saves each from senior Kim Rennison and junior Haley Hunter.

Sweet Springs (2-2) will be at home Monday against Smithton.
