Emma business reports break-in, theft of beverages

Wednesday, September 9, 2009
A business in Emma was broken into sometime Monday night, Sept. 7, or Tuesday morning, Sept. 8, according to a Saline County Sheriff's Department report.

The owners of K-Bar Restaurant and Grill, Buddy and Wanda Cox, told deputies 13 bottles of liquor were missing.

The owners told deputies the business had been broken into in May, but no report was filed with the sheriff's department for that incident. They said additional security measures were put in place after the earlier break-in.

There were signs a rear door had been forced open with a screw driver or similar tool, deputies said.

There are no suspects in the case, but the investigation is continuing, according to the report.
