During the week of Aug. 24, students at St. Peter Catholic School spent many hours learning about and honoring their school's heritage. Although there have been changes in leadership and facilities, the institution has been in Marshall for 125 years.

The students put together a time capsule, they made crosses, and they even dressed in clothing from decades past.

On Friday, Aug. 28, students and teachers sang "Happy Birthday" to their school and ate pieces of birthday cake, made by Pam Whitney, at lunchtime. That afternoon, students released balloons bearing prayer cards they'd written earlier in the week into the sky.

What a fabulous thing for this community. This is a such a treasure and so glad to see the paper covering it.
