School News: Marshall school district superintendent introduces new series of articles

Thursday, August 27, 2009

The Marshall Public School District has a rich history of high student achievement. When you look at our district you will see a talented and dedicated faculty that is always willing to go above and beyond to meet the needs of our students.

Our students are some of the best and brightest in the state of Missouri and it is our goal to ensure they are prepared to succeed at the highest level possible.

We are also fortunate to have a strong support staff. These individuals are so important to our district and we couldn't help our students achieve at the highest level without the support from our bus drivers, nurses, custodians, paraprofessionals, secretaries and maintenance personnel. It is a privilege and an honor to work with such dedicated professionals.

As we begin the 2009-2010 school year we would like to take this opportunity to thank The Marshall Democrat News for allowing us to submit articles on a weekly basis.

At Marshall Public Schools, we strive to keep our community informed and educated about matters related to the education of our students.

Throughout the year you will notice weekly articles that will be written by various administrators. Our intent is to share information and at the same time to keep everyone informed in relation to upcoming items that may be of interest.

Some of the topics we will be discussing this year include the district's comprehensive school improvement plan, summer school, curriculum, busing, activities and school calendars (just to name a few).

After you read the articles please feel free to contact the district if you have any questions or if you would like any additional information. We are here to serve the students and the community and are always happy to answer any questions that you might have.

We also have an extensive web site that is an excellent source of information. The district web address is http://www.marshallschools.com/. After visiting the site, please feel free to send us feedback and let us know if there are any other items you would like for us to make available.

If you ever have any questions, comments or concerns regarding our school district, please don't hesitate to contact me. I am happy to help in anyway possible.

Thank you for your continued support of the Marshall Public School District. We look forward to another outstanding school year.
