Sophomore Brooke Clemons made an impressive debut on the mound for the Lady Wildcats, allowing only three hits and no earned runs while striking out six batters over five innings.
Sophomore Marissa Weiher and Clemons poked RBI singles to plate the first two runners in the second. Sophomores Betty Goodman and Daneille Allen had two-run singles and junior Ana Jackson finished the outburst with a two-run homer.
Slater scored three runs in each of the next three turns at the plate.
The only run for the Lady Eagles (0-1) came from a walk and an error in the second.
Jackson scored four runs and senior Niki Kruger had a pair of doubles to lead Slater (1-0), which goes to New Franklin for a non-conference game Thursday.
