Nancy D. Rader, 61, of rural Malta Bend, died Monday, Aug. 10, 2009, at University Hospital and Clinics in Columbia.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 13, 2009, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with Dr. Phil Soto and William W. Harlow officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hazel Grove Cemetery in Herndon. Memorials may be made to Fitzgibbon-Mary Montgomery Hospice. Born Jan. 31, 1948, in Marshall, she was the daughter of the late Orville Scharnhorst and Gracie Hayslip Scharnhorst Stephens. On Oct. 9, 1965, she married Gene Rader, who survives of the home. She had lived in Saline County most of her life and was a homemaker.
Additional survivors include four children, Ronda Soto of Marshall, Marie Rader of Malta Bend, Angie Yates of Marshall and Jesse Rader of West Plains; nine grandchildren; three sisters, Clara Rader of Marshall, Lisa Butcher of DeWitt and Teresa Arndt of Marshall; two brothers, Jim Scharnhorst of Columbia and Andy Stephens of Marshall; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Claude Scharnhorst and Richard Scharnhorst, and two grandchildren.
