Helen Christine Hatfield, 92, of Fort Worth, Texas, died Saturday, Aug. 8, 2009, in Fort Worth.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, 2009, at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Marshall, with Rev. Vernon Maxted officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Huguley Home Health Agency, 777 S. Burleson Blvd., 2nd Floor, Burleson, TX 76028; Phoenix Hospice L.P., 901 Bardin Rd. Ste. 100, Arlington, TX 76017; and/or Burleson Pregnancy Aid Center, 250 NW Tarrant, Ste. J, Burleson, TX 76028.
She was born Jan. 25, 1917, in Armstrong, the daughter of the late Alfred Green Lusby and Dora Lee (Griffin) Lusby. In 1936, she married Leonard A. Hatfield of Marshall. She was a housewife and mother. She was a resident of Fort Worth for the past 10 years, having lived in Marshall for more than 60 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Marshall until she relocated to Texas.
She is survived by one son, Thomas L. Hatfield of Iowa, La.; two daughters, Linda F. Johnson of Fort Worth and Marcia L. Cook of Platte City; one brother, Leon Lusby of Fayette; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Hatfield; two daughters, Shirley Darlene Ward and JoyAnn McDaniel; one grandson, James E. Knox III; two sisters; and three brothers.
