2 teens suffer minor injuries in 1-vehicle crash Saturday

Saturday, August 8, 2009
Two teens suffered minor injuries in a one-vehicle crash on County Road 270 Saturday morning, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.

Niki D. Kruger, 17, of Slater, and Saria C. Leimkuehler, 16, of Gilliam, were taken by private vehicle to Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall for treatment, troopers said.

The accident occured about 7:40 a.m. as Kruger was driving a 2005 Jeep Liberty westbound when she swerved to miss a deer, overcorrected, left the right side of the roadway, struck a ditch and overturned, according to the report.

The vehicle came to rest on the driver's side. Both occupants were wearing safety belts, troopers said.
