Helen Edna Borgman, 90, of rural Slater, died Sunday, Aug. 2, 2009, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, 2009, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church near Saline City, with Pastor Mark Hass officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Born Nov. 11, 1918, in Forest Green, she was the daughter of the late Edward Linneman and Ida Hafemeister Linneman. She was a 1937 graduate of Salisbury High School. On July 31, 1938, she married Arnold C. Borgman, who preceded her in death on Feb. 28, 2005. She had lived in the rural Slater area most of her life and was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid.
Survivors include one son, Donald Borgman and his wife, Nancy, of rural Slater; one daughter, Emily Bird and her husband, James, of rural Slater; one granddaughter, Becky Haase and her husband, Jonathan; two step-grandchildren, Eric Bird and his wife, Jennifer, and Sharla Phelps and her husband, Scott; two great-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Paul Linneman, and two sisters, Elda Sander and Virgie Gessling.
