George Ellis Forbes

George Ellis Forbes, 70, Saline County passed suddenly at his home Friday, July 24th, 2009. Born in Sweet Springs to Earl Hampton and Blanche Duffey Forbes.

George leaves his wife of 40 years, love of his life, Jane Igo Forbes, their daughter, Sarah Jane; grandson, Andrew; his mother; sister; and Mark.

A people person, a true gentleman and scholar, endless humor, keen wit and appropriate anecdotes, he retired from meat markets into sales serving on, appointed and elected to many charitable and public boards and committees, a jack of all trades, electrician, master chef baking cakes and booze balls, grilling, sharing with others some of his many hobbies and joys. Organ donor.
