The closure was tentatively scheduled for Monday, Aug. 10.
The new closure date is expected to be in mid-September, which will coincide with the planned opening of the Glasgow Bridge.
Postponing the closure will accommodate motorists who need to use the Glasgow crossing as a detour for Miami, MoDOT officials said.
The fee for the ferry service at Glasgow will still be waived beginning Tuesday, Aug. 4. The ferry operates daily from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
The Aug. 10 groundbreaking ceremony for the Miami Bridge Project will also be postponed. A new date for that ceremony will be announced at a later time.
For more information about the project, contact the MoDOT District 2 Customer Service Center toll-free at 1-888-ASK MoDOT (275-6636). The center is open Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
