Frank Boyd Jr., 80, of Marshall, died Sunday, July 26, 2009, at The Living Center in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2009, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with William W. Harlow officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials may be made to family choice. Born March 28, 1929, in Saline County, he was the son of the late Frank Boyd Sr. and Luena Buie Boyd. On Dec. 22, 1946, he married Betty Jean Bakert, who survives of the home. He had lived in Marshall most of his life, returning to Marshall in 1974 from Blue Springs, where he had lived for 18 years. He had worked for Gibson Transfer Company, Marshall Municipal Utilities and Red Cross Pharmacy. He was a member of Blue Springs Masonic Lodge.
Additional survivors include one daughter, Cheryl Wood of Bates City; one grandson; one step-grandson; one sister, Dorothy Sleeper of Marshall; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, J.W. Boyd and Raymond E. Boyd, and one sister, Vivian Larsen.
