According to the incident report, deputies were called to the scene when a woman reported she had been assaulted by Billy Hayes.
When officers attempted to take Billy into custody, Timothy Hayes intervened, telling deputies, "If he goes, I go. You ain't taking him anywhere."
Both were eventually transported to Saline County Justice Facility, as they continued to verbally assault the arresting officers, threatening several times, the report says, to assault them when the officers were off-duty.
As of Monday morning, July 20, Timothy Hayes was in custody on a $1,000 cash-only bond; an arrest warrant is still out for Billy Hayes.
Each is charged with class A misdemeanor resisting/interfering with arrest, detention or stop, for which the penalty is up to one year in county jail, and/or up to a $1,000 fine.
