Johnny Lee Williams, 63, of Sweet Springs, died Friday, July 17, 2009, at Sweet Springs Villa.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 21, 2009, at William Wood Funeral Home in Boonville, with Rev. Mel Eaton officiating. "Amazing Grace" and "The Old Country Church" will be performed by Steve and Debra Kruger. Pallbearers will be Steve Kruger, Lance Knight, Frank Bishop Jr., Pat Eanes, Ernie Walther and Carl Walther. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at William Wood Chapel. Interment will follow in West Boonville Evangelical Cemetery Grove Cemetery near Boonville. He was born June 24, 1946, in Boone County, north of Columbia, the son of Robert A. and Ada Burge Williams, both of whom preceded him in death. As a young man, he lived in the West Boonville area for several years. He was a farm hand for area farmers.
Survivors include one sister, Betty May Bishop of Marshall; one brother, Charles T. Williams of Sweet Springs; and a niece and nephew.
