A Saline County sheriff's deputy was involved in a one-vehicle crash while responding to a call at a Grand Pass residence early Sunday, July 19, according to a sheriff's department report.
Deputy Timothy Rowe was traveling westbound on Route T and while negotiating a curve at 300th Road lost control of the squad car, according to the report.
Rowe said he overcorrected, and the car left the north side of the road, struck a utility pole and came to rest in a corn field.
Another deputy and a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper were also responding to the call. The trooper picked Rowe up and proceeded to the Grand Pass residence, according to the report.
Rowe said he was not injured in the mishap.
Officers later arrested a man at the Grand Pass residence. David Eugene Grossman, 37, of Brunswick, was arrested on a December 2008 Missouri Probation and Parole warrant for parole absconding.
