Jo Ann Selby of Boonville died on July 9, 2009. She was born to Lawrence V. Shue and Retta (Ogden) Shue on March 25, 1937, in Atchison, Kansas. She married Ted B. Cerny and they had four children: Deborah (Jim) Nanneman, Salisbury, Teddy B. Cerny, Jr. -- deceased, Terry L. Grindstaff, Warsaw, and Tamara Cerny (Bob Cordes), Boonville. She is survived by 3 half-sisters and 2 half-brothers and her sister-in-law, Alice Shue as well as her grandchildren: Marshall Meagher, Mallory Nanneman, Audrey (B.J.), Paul Alberson, Jr. (Kim), Melissa Alberson (Josh Hodges), Jennifer Alberson, Machelle Patton (James), Derek Broxterman. She is also survived by her great grandchildren: Kevin Riley, Jr., Felicity Hodges, Hayden and Haley Alberson, Zoey and Macy Patton, Mason Meagher, Maddie Seidel, Lydia Jo Parkey.
Jo Anne was a retired Sgt. from the Topeka Correctional Facility in Topeka, Kansas. Upon her retirement she moved to Boonville, Missouri, to be closer to her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Lawrence V. Shue, Retta (Ogden) Shanks, her brother Lawrence Shue, her son, Teddy B. Cerny, Jr., her great granddaughter, Shi-Anne Alberson, and her loyal companion Cuddles Marie Selby.
Graveside services will be held on July 17, 2009, at St. Cemetery in Salisbury, Missouri. Memorials can be made to Boonville Correctional Center Personnel Club or to the Salisbury Food Pantry in care of Friemonth Freese Funeral Home, 112 Market St., Glasgow, Missouri 65254.
