Doris Jean Bodenstab, 68, of Independence, died Saturday, July 4, 2009, at her residence.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 11, 2009, at Messiah Lutheran Church in Independence, followed by a graveside service at 1:30 p.m. in St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery in Concordia. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 10, 2009, at Speaks Suburban Chapel. She was born July 11, 1940, in Higginsville, to Florance Edward and Martha Marie Louise (Linke) Bufka and graduated from Marshall High School. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church. She was married to David Bodenstab on June 27, 1959; he preceded her in death on Jan. 15, 2004.
Survivors include two sons, Michael Bodenstab of Lee's Summit and Tom Bodenstab of Blue Springs; one daughter, Deborah Hansen of Blue Springs; one sister, Darlene Robinson of Marshall; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one granddaughter and one nephew.
