Indiana man suffers moderate injuries in I-70 crash Thursday

An Evansville, Ind., man suffered moderate injuries Thursday, July 2, in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 70 in Saline County, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.

Benjamin W. Widick, 35, was taken to Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall, troopers said.

The accident occurred about 10:55 p.m. near the 85 mile marker.

Widick was heading eastbound in a 1992 Chevrolet when the vehicle was struck in the rear by a 1993 Kenworth truck driven by Guy Williams, 37, of High Point, N.C., according to the report.

Widick's vehicle came to rest in the median. The truck came to rest in a westbound lane.

Both drivers were wearing safety devices, troopers said.
