Martinez is one of only 12 recent graduates selected from a pool of 1,500 applicants to be a "hotdogger" for the Oscar Mayer Weinermobile. Martinez and her fellow hotdogger Chris Kitts stopped at St. Peter Catholic Church in Marshall Monday, June 29, on their way from Indiana to Oklahoma.
Besides driving the Weinermobile, the hotdoggers "spread miles of smiles" throughout the country by hosting events and contests as they travel from town to town.
For Martinez, the best part about her job is "just making people smile."
"It's a lot of fun," to meet people and listen to their stories about the Weinermobile, she said.
All 12 hotdoggers record their adventures on the Web at hotdoggerblog.com. Follow Martinez, whose handle is Guac'alupe, and Kitts, C. Melton Cheddar, on the site.

The Weinermobile must be hard to drive... :)

Guadalupe Martinez is excellent at bringing smiles to folks' faces! Have fun!
I have a vague recollection of someone telling me of another Marshallite or Saline Countian that was a former "hotdogger" in the weinermobile in the past. I think they were also an MU grad. Anybody out there remember who that was? Perhaps, in addition to Jim the dog, we can be the home of famous weinerheads.
P.S. I'm jealous 'cause it sounds like a really fun job....
kinda takes the excitement completely away from "donuts in Marshall" huh?
GREAT headline, Ms. Stonner!!! ;)
And who said that journalism was a dying art?
