Jesse L. Logan Sr., 81, of Columbia, died Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at his home.
Memorial services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 29, 2009, at St. Luke United Methodist Church in Columbia. Burial will be at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of H.T. May and Son Funeral Home in Columbia.
He was born Feb. 22, 1928, in Log Providence, the son of Howard and Ida Mae Logan. He was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church. He was employed by University of Missouri in Columbia and was on the Board of Education in Columbia. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include one son, John Logan of Marshall; two daughters, Vallory Combs and Clara Railback, both of Marshall; one brother, Sam Logan of Slater; one sister, Victoria Tumey of Columbia; 21 grandchildren; 69 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, one son and 11 brothers and sisters.
