Market on the Square opens on the northeast corner of the downtown square at 8 a.m. today with fresh vegetables and other goodies available until noon.
Come on up and find tomatoes, green beans, zucchini in green and yellow, okra and fresh brown eggs for sale.
Viking Athletic Goods is in the second day of a two-day sale and the latest addition to downtown, The Donut, opened last night.
Fresh vegetables, donuts, and a sale - a great combination for a summer Saturday morning.

Oddly, I've never seen a Marshall police officer eating a donut. Too busy, maybe.
I DO NOT THINK THE CONAGRA PEOPLE WILL KEEP YOUR NIGHT BUSY ON DONUTS. THESE PEOPLE WORK HARD AND HAVE NOT MUCH TIME TO GO TO THE SQUARE FOR A DONUT. OF COURSE CANNOT BE SAID OF OUR POLICE DEPARTMENT.
I don't eat donuts at night, i eat them during the day. Will they be fresh at the "end" of their day (the begining of mine) or will they be the left-overs? They should rethink this.
The market closed early today because the vendors all sold out of their produce - we did post a "Sold Out" sign on the Market sign on the corner.
As to the donut shop, their plan is to be open at 10 p.m. and run all night and into the morning, and not close until after morning coffee break time for local businesses has passed. Unfortunately, they're having equipment problems, which we hope will be resolved very soon.
We didn't do very well with trying to shop on the Marshall square this morning. Went up at 11:30 to the Farmer's Market - everyone gone. (Sign was still up though)
Had gone around 9am to the donut shop and a sign said closed because of mechanical problems.
Will try again another day!
I agree with what Aikman8 said (another posting on another article) about the donut shop's hours. I hope they don't miss the day market by being open so much during the night. Donuts aren't just for breakfast! :)
