Irvin Luther Robb, 89, of Houstonia, passed away Sunday, June 21, 2009, at Golden Oaks Nursing Home in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, June 25, 2009, at Range Line Presbyterian Church in Houstonia. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sedalia. Pallbearers will be Bob Reid, Kenny Reid, Rick Alexander, Tony Alexander, Dennis Schuber and Wayne Shuber. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, June 24, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Moore Funeral Home in La Monte. Memorial contributions are suggested to Range Line Presbyterian Church or Fitzgibbon-Mary Montgomery Hospice and may be left in care of the funeral home.
He was born Oct. 27, 1919, in Waverly, the son of Luther and Margaret (Davis) Rodd. On Sept. 2, 1949, he was united in marriage to Loretta Hays in Houstonia; she preceded him in death on Oct. 21, 2004. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army under General George Patton in the 3rd Army. He worked as a farmer and as a gas bulk truck driver for AG Coop in Sedalia. He was a lifelong member of Range Line Presbyterian Church in Houstonia.
Survivors include two sons, David Robb and his wife, Stacy, of Sweet Springs and Thomas Robb and his wife, Celia, of Kansas City, Kan.; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, John David Robb and Davis Robb.
