The Travelers took a three-run lead into the bottom of the sixth inning of the first game, but Knob Noster tied it up. However, the 6-6 deadlock was broken when Marshall scored five runs in the top of the seventh.
A hit batter and a pair of walks packed the sacks with one out. Collin Brennan's grounder was booted to allow the go-ahead run to score and Zach Bishop -- who had stroked a two-run triple in the third -- singled in another run.
Bases-loaded walks drawn by Jonathon Phillips and Collin Porter forced in two more runs, with Bishop crossing on a wild pitch.
Knob Noster tallied four times during its half of the frame and had the bases filled with one out, the tying run standing on third, when Porter induced a pop-up to the catcher and fly ball to left field to end the game.
The Travelers led the nightcap wire to wire, Iasaac Phillips' two-run double keying a first inning in which they plated six runs. Brennan had an RBI single to cap a three-run third to wind up Marshall's scoring during the 9-5 victory.
The Travelers (3-1) are scheduled to play two games at Lexington today.
