The Lady Owls' two-time state medalist was tied for 14th place Thursday after shooting an 85 on the par-71 A.L. Gustin Golf Course. She rallied Friday with a four-over 75, the second-lowest score posted in the second round.
Nobody was going to catch Savannah senior Kate Gallagher, who had the low scores both days with even-par 71s -- beating runner-up Sky Seo of Chesterfield by five strokes.
Gallagher was second in the 2008 MSHSAA Class 1 Championships to lead the Lady Savages to second place behind Visitation Academy of St. Louis. Lamberson (above) tied for seventh place at the state meet.
Lamberson's performance earned her a spot on the Missouri team for the Junior Girls Four-State Championship, which will be held June 24-25 at Mission Hills Country Club in Shawnee Mission, Kan.
