County commissioners approve purchase of new dump trailer

Thursday, June 11, 2009

In their meeting Thursday, June 11, Saline County Commissioners accepted the bid of $30,090 from Quincy Mack Sales and Service of Hannibal for a new dump trailer, at the recommendation of county road and bridge supervisor Justin Cowart.

Once ordered, the trailer will take 10 to 12 weeks to arrive.

Commissioners also opened bids to provide the county's banking services. Bids were received from two banks: Community Bank of Marshall, the county's current bank, and First Community Bank of Sweet Springs.

Country Treasurer Sam Jones was present for the meeting. He and the commissioners will review the bids and make a decision next week, he said.

Commissioners will meet again Tuesday morning, June 16, at 9 a.m. in the lower level of the courthouse.
