Cecil O. Ray Jr., 69, of Marshall, died Thursday, June 4, 2009, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 10, 2009, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with Rev. Cliff Cato officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial with military rites will be at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville. Born Aug. 28, 1939, in Frost, W.Va., he was the son of the late Cecil O. Ray Sr. and Anna Elizabeth Gee Ray. On Jan. 10, 1965, in Elmira Heights, N.Y., he married Patricia Ann Campbell, who survives of the home. He worked for Marshall Ready Mix. He was a member of Southside Assembly of God.
Additional survivors include five children, Clifford Ray and his wife, Lorrie, of Hardeman, Kandy Crawford of Marshall, Valarie Cadwell and her husband, Donnie, of Marshall, Dianna Robinson of Hardeman and Jeff Boston of Joplin; 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one sister, Elizabeth Howard of the state of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one twin daughter, Lori Ray; and one sister, Betty Louise Bump.
