Bennie Ray Pummill, 70, of Marshall, died Tuesday, May 26, 2009, at The Arbors at Westport Estates in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 1, 2009, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with William W. Harlow officiating. Visitation will be held from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Born Dec. 15, 1938, in Sedalia, he was the son of the late John "Pat" Pummill and Sabra "Dolly" Chatman Pummill. He was a graduate of Smith Cotton High School in Sedalia and Barber College in Kansas City. In March 1985, he married Kay Forbes, who survives of the home. He had lived in Marshall the past six months, moving from Malta Bend, where he had lived for 24 years, previously living in Sedalia for 46 years. He was a retired salesman for Tallman Company in Sedalia.
Additional survivors include four daughters, Lisa Moon and her husband, Pat, of Sedalia, Robyn Pummill of Columbia, Becky McGinnis and her husband, Greg, of Sedalia and Dena Parkhurst of Sedalia; four stepdaughters, Jacquelyn Mach and her husband, Greg, Kathy Austin and her husband, Kirk, Karla Clause and her husband, Mark, and Lea Evans and her husband, Brad, all of Marshall; 20 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Dolores Barnes of Sedalia; mother-in-law, Blanche Forbes of Sweet Springs; one brother-in-law; one sister-in-law; and five nephews and three nieces.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Pummill.
