Saline County Sheriff Wally George and his staff provided an escort for the Wall that Heals traveling replica of the Vietnam War Memorial as it passed through the county Wednesday afternoon, May 20.

The exhibit was on its way to Norborne, where it will be on display May 21 through May 25 at the Norborne football field.

Events honoring veterans will take place at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 21, and Friday, May 22 and at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 23, and Sunday, May 24, and Monday, May 25.

Three of George's squad cars met the exhibit as it entered Saline County and escorted it north on U.S. Highway 65 to the Missouri River bridge at Waverly. All intersections of Marshall streets with U.S. 65 were temporarily blocked by Marshall police while the exhibit passed through.
