Berniece Rippel, 92, of Higginsville, formerly of Marshall, died Friday, May 1, 2009, at Meyer Care Center in Higginsville.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 9, 2009, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Private family burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Moberly. Memorials may be made to Marshall Public Education Foundation. Friends may sign the online register book at www.campbell-lewis.com.
Born March 31, 1917, in Moberly, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Daniel and Jewell Settles Daniel. On Oct. 26, 1941, she married Ralph U. Rippel, who preceded her in death on April 13, 1977. She was a longtime teacher in Marshall Public Schools and co-owner of Rippel's Toy House. She was an active and longtime member of First United Methodist Church in Marshall, Moberly United Methodist Church, Higginsville United Methodist Church and more recently, the Presbyterian Church in Higginsville.
Survivors include one granddaughter, Molly Rippel of Columbia; one grandson, Ryan Rippel of Seattle, Wash.; one sister, Eula Mae Davis of Moberly; several nieces and nephews; and many wonderful friends that are dear as family.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Dan Rippel; daughter-in-law, Barbara Rippel; two brothers; and two sisters.
