Junior Brent Boland and sophomore Matt Vogelsmeier had RBI singles in the bottom of the second inning to give Sweet Springs a 3-1 lead, but Windsor tied it in the third when senior Corey Buford tripled in a run and scored on junior Derek Riggs' base hit.
Senior Jacob Navarro's single broke the tie with a two-out single in the 'Hounds' half of the third, but then Windsor unloaded for seven runs on three hits -- including sophomore Daniel Sanders' two-run single -- and a costly error which accounted for three unearned runs.
Windsor tacked on five more runs in the fourth, a pair crossing on junior Codi Moon's double, and all three of its runs in the sixth came in when junior Matt Madole clocked a bases-loaded double.
Madole drove in five runs for seventh-seeded Windsor (3-5), which is scheduled to play Concordia for the consolation trophy today.
Senior Quin Jones had two hits and scored twice for Sweet Springs (3-7), which hosts Northwest of Hughesville on Monday.
The semifinal rounds of both the baseball and softball tourneys were postponed by rain. As of press time, a decision had not been made as to when they would be played.
