Jean H. Kelly, 61, of Brookfield, formerly of Rothville and Marshall, died Sunday, April 26, 2009, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2009, at Delaney Funeral Home in Marceline, with Rev. Hillis Prather officiating. Burial will be in Rothville Cemetery in Rothville. Pallbearers were Art Sportsman, Thomas Sportsman, Eddie Willis, Keith Epperson, Fred Carpenter and Richard Thudium, with honorary pallbearer Gene Elson. The family suggests memorials be made to Jean Kelly Memorial, in care of Delaney Funeral Home, 1720 N. Missouri Ave., Marceline, MO 64658.
She was born Jan. 19, 1948, in Keene's Valley, N.Y., the daughter of Sheridon M. and Helen M. (Chapleau) Jeffers. She was raised by a Catholic orphanage in the state of New York. She married Bill Kelly, who preceded her in death on July 22, 2001. She worked at Marshall Habilitation Center for 27 years, was a licensed practical nurse and worked in the laundry department for several years. She was a member of Rothville Baptist Church.
She is survived by adopted sisters, Linda Thudium of Rothville, Liz Elson of Marshall and Charlie Jennings of Bevier.
