William M. "Mac" Krog, 62, of Slater, died Tuesday, April 28, 2009, at his home.
Memorial graveside services with military honors will be held Saturday, May 2, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at Versailles City Cemetery in Versailles, with Todd Foreman officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 1, at First Baptist Church in Slater. Memorials are suggested to Versailles City Cemetery in care of Weiker Funeral Home in Slater.
Born Sept. 22, 1946, in Versailles, he was the son of the late William O. Krog and Annie Hancock Krog, who survives of Marshall. He was a 1964 graduate of Slater High School and a 1972 graduate of University of Missouri-Columbia, where he earned a degree in animal husbandry. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Slater. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of American Legion Post 78 in Slater. He farmed and worked for the FMHA in northern Missouri and Iowa for several years before returning to Slater in 2002.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by two sons, William Dale Krog and Larry Joe Krog, both of Clarence; five grandchildren; one brother, Samuel Krog of Slater; and one sister, Laura Mason of Shelbyville.
