Weather affects work schedule at I-70/US 65 junction

Monday, April 27, 2009
Missouri Department of Transportation maintenance crews have moved back the dates for closing ramps at Interstate 70 and U.S. Highway 65 in Saline County due to the weather, according to a MoDOT news release.

The work will still be conducted over the course of six days and various directions will be closed. Each closure will be for one day and will begin at 7 a.m. and will end at 6 p.m. The new dates are listed below.

The following closures indicate when only one ramp will be closed:

--Tuesday, April 28: U.S. 65 South to I-70 West ramp will be closed.

--Wednesday, April 29: I-70 East to U.S. 65 South ramp will be closed.

--Thursday, April 30: U.S. 65 North to I-70 East ramp will be closed.

--Monday, May 4: I-70 West to U.S. 65 North ramp will be closed.

The following closures indicate when two ramps will be closed:

--Tuesday, May 5: I-70 West to U.S. 65 South, and Route 65 North to I-70 West.

--Wednesday, May 6: U.S. 65 South to I-70 East and I-70 East to Route 65 North.

During both projects in May, traffic on I-70 will be restricted to one lane.

On May 5 it will be westbound traffic and on May 6 it will be eastbound traffic.

Motorists must choose alternate routes during the closures and exercise caution in the areas. The projects are weather dependent and could be rescheduled.
