Hazel Province Kearney, 90, of Camdenton, formerly of rural Houstonia, died Saturday, April 18, 2009, at Windsor Estates in Camdenton.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 22, 2009, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. Burial will be in Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Marshall. Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to New Salem Baptist Church. Friends may sign an online guest book at www.campbell-lewis.com.

Born Dec. 10, 1918, in Saline County, she was the daughter of the late Cleve Province and Minnie Collins Province. She was a graduate of Marshall High School. On Dec. 24, 1937, she married John Smith Kearney, who preceded her in death on Sept. 26, 2001. She had lived in rural Houstonia since 1980, moving from Kansas City, Kan., and retired from Stuart Hall Paper Manufacturing Company after 25 years of service. She was a member of New Salem Baptist Church at Marshall Junction.

Survivors include one son, Warren Smith Kearney and his wife, Sharon, of rural Houstonia; one daughter, Ileene Eastin and her husband, Robert, of Camdenton; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, John Wayne Kearney; one brother, Wallace Province; and one brother in infancy, Harvey Province.
