Fred Mistler Jr., 82, of Marshall, died Monday, April 20, 2009, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.
At his request, no services will be held. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Saline Animal League in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Friends may sign the online register book at www.campbell-lewis.com.
Born July 13, 1926, in Marshall, he was the son of the late Frederick Daniel Mistler Sr. and Ruth Irene Remley Mistler. On July 1, 1950, he married Norma Jean Case, who survives of the home. He was a 1944 graduate of Marshall High School, and had lived in the Marshall area most of his life. He was a U.S. Army/Air Force veteran, serving from 1944 to 1946. He worked as a body repairman for many years and was then a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for nearly 20 years.
Additional survivors include one son, Daniel P. Mistler and his wife, Marilyn, of Marshall; and one granddaughter, Kerry Mistler.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Sherilyn Marie Mistler.
