Fundraiser helps Higginsville-Marshall Habilitation Centers

Jefferson City -- State Sen. Bill Stouffer, R-Napton, will again co-host a benefit golf tournament at Indian Foothills Golf Course in Marshall to raise funds for the Higginsville-Marshall Habilitation Centers, according to a news release from Stouffer's office.

"This is the third year in a row Rep. Mike McGhee of Odessa and I have done this," Stouffer said. "We see more folks come out every year and I'm glad to see the interest in the habilitation centers because they do a great job."

Registration will start at 7:30 a.m. on Friday with a tee off set for 8 a.m. at Indian Foothills Golf Course.

Entry fee is $400 per team, which includes food, green fees, cart and prizes.

"Last year, over 70 golfers raised around $16,000 for the centers," Sen. Stouffer said. "I can't wait to see our friends and neighbors come out and support a worthy cause. The funds go to the Parents' Association of the Higginsville-Marshall Habilitation Centers for projects and events there."

this is a fund raiser and it's just getting out in the news now, two days before it happens? it's for the hab center ... something that shouldn't be politicized, but i bet ya if the state senator was a democrat, it would have been out a lot earlier in this paper.
