Workers from Mid-Continent Restoration Co. began preliminary paint and stain removal work on the Saline County Courthouse Tuesday, April 14.

One worker said the paint stripper was being applied in order to get a sense of how thick the paint is. Another worker was applying a spray stripper to remove water stains from bricks on the northeast side of the building.

It may be some time yet before the project gets in full swing. Workers await the arrival of materials and scaffolding still needs to be installed.

Scaffolding is slated to be built sometime in the next two weeks, according to a preliminary schedule developed in February.
