Roger Wayne Shaul, 66, of Brookfield, died Tuesday, March 31, 2009, at The Living Center in Marshall.
Visitation was held at Rhodes Funeral Home in Brookfield Friday, April 3, 2009, beginning at 9 a.m. with the family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. that evening. A private graveside service was held at a later date at Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Brookfield. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been suggested to Linn County Humane Society's Help a Senior Adopt a Pet Program, and can be left at the funeral home or mailed to 216 Linn St., Brookfield, MO 64628. He was born Oct. 21, 1942, in Brookfield, the son of Junior Wayne and Mabel Ida (Howery) Shaul. He was a member of Park Baptist Church of Brookfield and worked as a meat cutter in various local grocery stores. He retired from DURA. He enjoyed bowling and working with Boy Scouts when his sons were growing up.
He is survived by his parents; one daughter, Gina Smith of Sweet Springs; four sons, Jon Shaul of Colorado Springs, Colo., Russell Shaul and his wife, Peggy, of Warrensburg, Robert "Buck" Shaul and his wife, Lisa, of Fort Stewart, Ga., and Frank Shaul of Leavenworth, Kan.; seven grandchildren, J.C. Taylor and his wife, Kerra, of Springfield, Adrienne Taylor of Warrensburg, Holly Taylor of Sweet Springs, Nicole, Andrew and Adam Shaul of Warrensburg and Brittany Shaul of Fort Stewart; and two cousins, Jerry Howery of St. Louis and Barbara Niemeyer and her husband, Ted, of Chesterfield.
