Northwest 8, Santa Fe 2

ALMA -- Junior Mariah Wiskur allowed only one hit and no earned runs, while striking out eight, as Northwest of Hughesville breezed to an 8-2 road win over the Santa Fe softball team.

Junior Shadow Wiskur banged out three hits and drove in a pair of runs, the second with a fourth-inning triple to give the Lady Mustangs (2-0) a 5-1 lead. She also led off the sixth with a single and scored on an error.

The Lady Chiefs (2-1) didn't get a hit until junior Erica Lane singled with one out in the seventh. Lane walked and scored Santa Fe's second run on senior Becca Woodson's grounder in the fifth.
