Roger Dale Rader, 63, of rural Marshall, died Monday, March 30, 2009, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 2, 2009, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with William W. Harlow officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials may be made to Fitzgibbon Cancer Center. Born Feb. 7, 1946, in Marshall, he was the son of the late Jesse Rader and Mabel Grandstaff Rader. On June 5, 1965, he married Clara M. Scharnhorst, who survives of the home. He had lived in the Marshall area his entire life and owned and operated several businesses, including Water Transportation, R&R Bait Shop and Rader Furniture; he was most recently employed as a courier for Community Bank of Marshall.
Additional survivors include one daughter, Christina Rader Johnson of Marshall; one grandson, Evan Lane Johnson; one brother, Howard Gene Rader of Malta Bend; one sister, Wanda Lee Smith of Marshall; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers and seven sisters.
