Marvin L. Ikenberry, 65, of Kansas City, died Wednesday, March 25, 2009, at his home.
Cremation. Memorial graveside services will be held Monday, March 30, 2009, at 2 p.m. in Higginsville City Cemetery, with Sevier Hoefer officiating. Inurnment will be in Higginsville City Cemetery. He was born March 4, 1944, in Warrensburg, the son of the late Jewell and Bessie D. (Peppers) Ikenberry. He worked as an over-the-road truck driver for Core Carrier, retiring in 2008. He lived most of his life in the Kansas City area. On Feb. 14, 1992, he married Joyce Wilson, who survives of the home. He served in the U.S. Navy.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Laurie Ikenberry of Wichita, Kan., and Lisa Ikenberry of Marshall; three stepsons, Ricky Byrd of Kansas City, Steven Byrd of Kansas City and Kevin Byrd of Springtown, Texas; one stepdaughter, Tamara Soban of Independence; and one brother, Tony Ikenberry of Bosworth.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Sharon Workman.
