Linda Jean McAllister Lamb, 57, of Concordia, formerly of Sweet Springs, died Monday, March 23, 2009, at I-70 Medical Center in Sweet Springs.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 26, 2009, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Sweet Springs. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Sweet Springs. Born July 11, 1951, in Sedalia, she was the daughter of the late Robert Lee McAllister and Betty Jean Grimes McAllister. On July 15, 1972, she married Danny T. Lamb, who survives of the home. She was a 1969 graduate of Sweet Springs High School and received a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education with an emphasis in special education from Minot State University in Minot, N.D. She later received a Master of Education degree from Pittsburgh State University. She was a special education teacher for 24 years in various schools, with many of those years spent at Concordia Public Schools and Pettis County R-V in Hughesville. She was a member of Sweet Springs R-VII FCCLA, MSTA, NEA and served on the Council for Exceptional Children.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by four children, Robert Lee Lamb of Concordia, Billie Jean Clevenger of Sweet Springs, Rebecca Maples of Emma and D. Thomas Lamb Jr. of Concordia; 12 grandchildren; one brother, John Dennis McAllister of Concordia; several nieces and nephews; and many adopted children and grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one grandson.
