All my kids grew up just fine. None of them have ever been in any trouble. None of them start fights. None of them do drugs. So as I said each to their own. I don't believe that properly spanking a child when needed is a sin or a crime!!

That's your opinion, you must work for DFS. I was spanked as a child and I have spanked my children when it was deserved. There is a difference between correcting a child by spanking and beating a child.

I didn't grow up beating people or violating laws, doing drugs, or anything that you may suggest, nor did my children. Part of the problem with any discipline is that it is not reinforced with the positive when a child does good.

Even the Bible says spare the rod, spoil the child. So I guess your statement means that people are smarter than the lord??

Who started the liberal thinking that spanking a child that needs it, is wrong? It is usually the minority that imposes their beliefs upon the majority. Even our liberal law makers still believe that spanking should be legal and is.

Of course this is just my opinion and I believe that each parent must make up their own mind as to the proper discipline of their child.

So, it's not ok to beat your neighbor's dog, but you can beat your neighbor's kid. Get real---and using a belt on a child is insane anyway!! I don't beleive parents have that right--net alone a neighbor. Hope they get her good!!

MAybe, Muddywater..

Maybe you should not speak about a case unless you have all the facts. First of all it is not illegal to spank a child to disipline them. However it is illegal to leave marks on the child. It is nice to know that if your child came home covered in welts and bruises and tells you that a 22 year old adult did it to them then you would do nothing about it. cause hey, there is an old saying that says the community can raise my kid for me. The government does not send people to jail for disiplining children they send them for harming children. So. please before you start talking about the kid(which you don't know) as being a brat and deserving it. you should wait until all the facts are released and then cast your judgement. I am sick of seeing kids that are criminals being treated like victims and then in cases like this the kid is a victim and people try to make them out to be the wrong one. At the end of the day the woman was the ADULT and should have acted like one. instead a 22 year old adult went after a CHILD and assaulted him.

I'm not upholding this person in any way, but I remember when a neigbor would get ahold of you, then take you to Mom and Dad and they would give it to you again!

I always thought the government stated that it took a neigborhood or community to raise a child?? (okay it was an old saying anyway) Our prisons are full because the government wants to step in everytime a parent gets after their kids. I know that this was not the parent, but hey I bet the kid leaves the neigbor alone after this?? It's just to bad the parent didn't keep it from happening in the first place.

Maybe this kid is a brat and the parent will not do anything about it and the neighbor just got temporary insanity and just did what should have been done along time ago??
