Kenneth Leon Hayes, 75, of Blue Springs, formerly of Marshall, died Tuesday, March 17, 2009, at St. Mary's Hospital in Blue Springs.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 21, 2009, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with William W. Harlow officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials may be made to family choice. Born Aug. 21, 1933, in Armstrong, he was the son of the late Parker Hayes and Ida Shiflett Hayes. On Dec. 9, 1950, he married Dorothy Corine Sullivan, who preceded him in death. On Nov. 7, 1970, he married Lena Jones, who survives of Blue Springs.
Additional survivors include three sons, Gary Hayes of Kirbyville, David Hayes of rural Marshall and Phillip Hayes of Aurora; four daughters, Becky Bledsoe of Independence, Glenda Tolivar of Marshall, Deanna Hollingsworth of Rural Hall, N.C., and Lena Mae Hess of Platte City; two stepsons, Bobbie Joe Yokeley of Springfield and John Wesley Aulgur of Blue Springs; two stepdaughters, Wanda Marie Thompson of Marshall and Connie Lynn Brown of Richmond; one sister, Velma Jean Eads of Marshall; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Jacqueline Davis; one brother, L.C. Hayes; one sister, Joyce Hill; and one stepson, Stevie Joe Yokeley.
